The New Orleans Saints have been banged up along the offensive line to start training camp, and so they’ve continued to add to the roster.

The Saints signed veteran lineman Jesse Davis and guard Tremayne Anchrum Jr., placed tackle Justin Herron on injured reserve and cut guard Mark Evans II.

Davis, who went undrafted in 2015, spent part of last season on the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad and also has had stints with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers. The 32-year-old, at 6-foot-6 and 318 pounds, has appeared in 95 NFL games with 72 starts — with most of those coming with the Dolphins (2017-2021).

The Los Angeles Rams selected 6-foot-2 and 314-pound Anchrum in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has made 31 appearances, making one start. After playing with the Seattle Seahawks earlier in the summer, he now makes his way to New Orleans.

Herron, meanwhile, landed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury on the first day of camp. The Saints signed the former Las Vegas Raiders tackle to bolster their depth upfront back in April.

Evans had been with New Orleans since last season when he joined the roster as an undrafted free agent. He spent most of last year on the practice squad.

Saturday’s signing comes after the team already added former Rams and Jaguars offensive lineman Chandler Brewer on Friday. To make room for Brewer, who played at right guard in Friday’s practice, the team released undrafted rookie free agent Nouri Nouili.

The Saints shake up the offensive line with new signings after injuries in training camp

Since the start of training camp, the Saints have seen offensive linemen Herron (knee) and Shane Lemieux (ankle) go down with injuries. New Orleans also placed tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee) on a season-ending reserve/Physically Unable to Perform just before camp.
