Michigan had a historic 2023 football season as they captured their first national championship title since 1997 by going a perfect 15-0.
The Wolverines will be welcoming another star-studded group of prospects with this incoming 2024 recruiting class and a pair of signees in running back Micah Kaapana and defensive lineman Deyvid Palepale got one more chance to compete and play before heading to Ann Arbor in the Aloha State earlier this month at the Polynesian Bowl.
Michigan had a historic 2023 football season as they captured their first national championship title since 1997 by going a perfect 15-0.
The Wolverines have gotten to work on the 2025 recruiting class and future classes to come by hitting the recruiting trail as of late. They have been on the road and quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell stopped by Newbury Park (Calif.) to check on 2026 five-star quarterback Brady Smigiel.
There will be a handful of great rematches in 2024 and below are the nine most intriguing. This offseason has been one of immense change, with no story being bigger than the retirement of Nick Saban. His departure made the coaching carousel spin when Alabama elected former Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer as its next leader.
Saban’s retirement sparked a trickle-down effect, most recently pairing former Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo with San Jose State. Niumatalolo replaces Brent Brennan, who left to become Arizona’s head coach when Jedd Fisch filled Washington’s head coaching vacancy.
While rosters and coaches may be different, rematches have an unmatched intensity due to the desire to get revenge. Intensity is set by fans and programs tend to grasp the significance of the clash based on how its supporters reacted to the previous season’s win or loss.
