BREAKING: Coventry City FC Training Ground Placed on Lockdown After Suspicious Package Found

Coventry City Football Club was plunged into chaos this morning after a suspicious package was discovered at their Ryton-on-Dunsmore training facility, prompting a full security lockdown and evacuation of players and staff.

According to Warwickshire Police, a club employee found an unmarked package near the entrance to the main training building shortly before 9:00 AM. Initial reports describe the item as “unusually sealed and containing unknown materials.” Bomb disposal experts were immediately called to the scene.

Players and coaching staff were preparing for a closed training session ahead of a crucial upcoming fixture when the alarm was raised. Emergency services swiftly cordoned off the area, and surrounding roads were closed to traffic.

A police spokesperson confirmed:

“The package is being treated as a potential threat until proven otherwise. We have evacuated the facility as a precaution and are conducting a full investigation.”

Coventry City FC released a statement via social media shortly after noon:

“The safety of our players, staff, and the community is our absolute priority. Training has been suspended until further notice while police carry out investigations.”

There are currently no reports of injuries or arrests, but tensions are high as authorities work to determine the nature and origin of the package. Security has also been increased at the Coventry Building Society Arena ahead of the weekend’s fixture.

Supporters have been urged to remain calm and avoid speculation while officials conduct their work.
