In a surprising Premier League upset, Manchester City suffered a narrow defeat to Brighton, ending their winning streak and leaving fans questioning their form. Speaking after the match, City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged his team’s struggle, citing missed chances and defensive lapses as key issues.

“It was a tough game,” Guardiola admitted. “Brighton are always challenging; they played with intensity, and we lacked that sharpness in key moments. We didn’t make the most of our chances, and against teams like this, you pay for it.”

Guardiola also hinted at fatigue, given City’s packed fixture schedule. “The players are human; they’re giving everything, but we need to regroup and focus. Every game in this league is a battle, and today, Brighton won that battle.”

Despite the loss, Guardiola remained optimistic about City’s upcoming matches. “We’ll learn from this, analyze where we went wrong, and improve. It’s a long season, and there are always ups and downs.”

City will aim to bounce back in their next fixture, as they look to retain their position at the top of the league.
