After 23 NBA games, the Los Angeles Lakers have announced that rookie guard Bronny James will be reassigned to their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. This decision follows Bronny’s recent standout performance in the G League, where he scored a career-high 39 points against the Santa Cruz Warriors, along with seven rebounds, four assists, four steals, and a block.
Throughout his rookie season, Bronny has oscillated between the NBA and G League. In the G League, he has demonstrated significant growth, averaging 20.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.1 assists over nine regular-season games. In the NBA, his playing time has been more limited, but he recently achieved a personal best by scoring 17 points against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Bronny’s father, LeBron James, has publicly supported his son’s development. Despite their demanding schedules, the duo plans to train together during the offseason to further enhance Bronny’s skills.
This reassignment aims to provide Bronny with increased playing time and opportunities to refine his abilities, aligning with the Lakers’ long-term strategy for his development.
