The defending premiers changed their Round 20 lineup after De Goey underwent and failed a fitness test on Saturday.
The Magpies announced that Joe Richards, a quick forward, will replace De Goey in their lineup.
“Due to a groin injury, Jordan De Goey will miss tomorrow’s Round 20 encounter versus Richmond. Joe Richards joins the team,” the club announced on social media.
“Jordy woke up sore and couldn’t finish today’s fitness test. He is anticipated to resume training the following week after receiving therapy over the next few days.”
Jordy pulled up sore and was unable to pass a fitness test today. He will have treatment over the coming days and is expected to return to training next week 🤞

Groin and abdominal issues keep De Goey out of action for five weeks, with the star Magpie returning in Round 16 and playing every game since.
The change is the sixth for the Magpies ahead of their meeting with the Tigers, with Reef McInnes (omitted), Nathan Kreuger (concussion), Lachlan Sullivan (omitted) and Oleg Markov (personal season) all making way from the side that fell to Hawthorn last week.
Wil Parker, Lachie Schultz, Mason Cox, Jack Bytel and Harvey Harrison have all come into Craig McRae’s side.
