GOOD NEWS: Another WR will be relocating to Alabama Crimson

While visiting Louisville on Friday, the transfer wide receiver from Alabama declared his commitment to the university. The Crimson Tide’s junior receiver had a fantastic sophomore campaign in 2022, totaling 39 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns. However, this season’s possibilities were limited by injuries and a congested receiving room. In the 2023 season, Brooks only had three receptions for thirty yards. On November 4, he last played against LSU.

“He performed admirably. “He’s performed admirably on special teams,” Nick Saban remarked of Brooks on November 6. “He’s been a little injured, which has somewhat affected his role. However, he’s been excellent. He’s performed admirably on special teams. He has fulfilled every request we have made of him. He’s done an excellent job of fulfilling his obligations when he’s not in the game. We’ll see how things go this week as well. He sustained a blow to his shoulder, which has been a minor problem for him this season.

A few days after Brooks did not suit up for Alabama in its SEC Championship victory over Georgia, the team entered the transfer portal last week.

Louisville acquires a wide receiver with an impressive background. According to 247Sports’ transfer rankings, Brooks was rated as the No. 8 receiver and No. 43 overall prospect. Coming out of IMG Academy, he was a five-star prospect and the No. 2 receiver. He contributed to the Crimson Tide’s special teams efforts in addition to his receiving career.

After winning the SEC championship, Nick Saban has been recruiting for the majority of the last two weeks, and his garage may contain the greatest recruitment tool he has ever owned.

Earlier this week, a video of Alabama pledge Saban revving the engine for recruits visiting his house was recorded by Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., and the video quickly went viral. Saban drove a red Ferrari.

The coach of Alabama gave The Pat McAfee Show an explanation of the history on Friday.

“Everyone wants to operate it,” stated Saban. “Look, I was somewhat duped into doing that. One of the guys that was there—every Sunday morning, we invite the players over for breakfast at our place. As we exit, kids notice the car and start to ‘Ooh’ and ‘Aah’. Why don’t you turn it on so we can hear what it sounds like? they asked. After getting the keys, I went and turned it on.

“I had no idea that the guy was going to record it and make it go viral. It would have piqued their interest much more if they had seen me line dancing because our parents are coming over on Saturday night.”

Naturally, Saban’s dancing during recruiting events at his residence has gone viral several times.

In addition to the triple-stacked Styrofoam cup that was seen in Kirkpatrick’s video of Saban driving his Ferrari, bags of America’s Best chewing tobacco were also visible in another image of Saban driving a sports car that was circulated this week.

“The triple styrofoam cup, across all demographics, that was beloved — because that’s either lean, which we assume it’s not, or it’s…” McAfee remarked in response to Saban’s cupholder contents.

Saban talked to McAfee about his West Virginian heritage instead of addressing that particular aspect.

“Some of the things I learned growing up in West Virginia in a coal mining town have been very beneficial to getting to know how to really talk to, articulate with, communicate with, everybody,” Saban stated. “Regardless of their origins or social and economic standing. Growing up, I encountered many kind individuals in West Virginia and picked up a lot of life lessons there.”

Earlier in the season, Saban stated that he only uses his Ferrari on Wednesdays.

Auburn defeated USC 91-75 to win a nonconference home game for the 49th time in a row.

In front of a sold-out Neville Arena, five Tigers scored in double digits, with Aden Holloway leading the way with 15 points. Holloway led the Tigers in points for the fourth time this season, or tied for the lead. Denver Jones scored twelve, Jaylin Williams scored fourteen, and Johni Broome and Dylan Cardwell, the two large men from Auburn, each scored eleven. The Tigers made 29 of their 61 attempts from the field as a team, shooting 47.5 percent overall. Auburn went 8 of 21 from three-point range, with four of the Tigers’ made baskets coming from Holloway.

Tre Donaldson, together with Holloway, finished with 11 assists (Halloway with six, Donaldson with five), one turnover, and 22 points overall. The Tigers took the lead at 15:10 in the first half and held it for 37 minutes of the match.

With six rebounds, Cardwell led the Tigers, outrebounding Auburn 38–35. Ten offensive rebounds were turned into 12 second-chance points for the Tigers. With 13 offensive boards, the Trojans scored 10 points on second chances. With 22 points in the contest, Boogie Ellis led the Trojans. Ellis scored 50 points in total during the two games in the Tigers-Toro home-and-home series. Isaiah Collier, a possible top choice in the NBA Draft, finished the game with 13 points in 18 minutes after picking up a foul. For the Trojans, Oziyah Sellers added 13 points as well.

In all, 58 free throws were attempted during the game, 32 of which were made by Auburn. The Tigers’ percentage from the foul line was 78.1 percent, or 25 out of 32. Chad Baker-Mazara shot five of six free throws, Denver Jones made six, and Johni Broome made three. Three of Dylan Cardwell’s four foul shots were made. The Trojans made 80.8 percent of their foul shots, which is 10 percent more than their season average, going 21 of 26 on free throws.
