What a signing: Auburn has made super an excellent trade….

Auburn signed 20 players on National Signing Day, including preferred walk-ons kicker Towns McGough, wide receiver Dylan Gentry, and long snappers Keaton McNutt and JR Buckner.

With Signing Day in the rearview mirror and Auburn’s class basically set for the 2024 cycle, we’re handing out class superlatives.

Antonio Coleman, the No. 91 overall athlete and No. 8 defensive lineman in the 2025 class, has switched from Alabama to Auburn. Coleman has been a member of the Alabama football team since September. Though he trains with former Auburn defensive lineman Antonio Coleman, he is not related to him.

Coleman is the No. 9 player from the state of Alabama in 2025, and he is teammates with top receiver target Ryan Williams, who is committed to Alabama in the 2024 class, and top 2025 quarterback target in Texas commit KJ Lacey.

“I played at Jordan-Hare Stadium for a state championship,” Coleman told Auburn Undercover earlier this spring. “I enjoyed playing on the field.” I’d be interested in learning more about the school.”

Coleman, who stands 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds, has 62 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hurries, and four sacks as a junior at Saraland. Coleman had 69 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hurries, and 3.5 sacks as a sophomore.

So, how might the team’s newest members make an effect next season? Here’s a look at every new Tiger who joined the program on Wednesday, presented in the order in which their letters of intent were received and officially announced by Auburn, and the arguments for playing time for each as true freshmen next year.

The entires will be updated throughout the day as letters of intent arrive. All announcement timings are in the center.

All of Auburn’s 2024 pledges have signed, with the exception of defensive lineman Dimitry Nicolas and tight end Martavious Collins, who have been expected to join the class for a few weeks.

Hugh Freeze holds a press conference to announce Auburn’s Letter of Intent.

The case for early playing time: Williams, a top-50 overall recruit, flipped from Florida during his signing ceremony, and Freeze praised him just a few minutes afterward. Auburn, ranked No. 34 overall by 247Sports, began making a late push for Williams a few months ago, aided by the fact that the Tigers had previously flipped Jamonta Waller from Florida. Ohio State was also considered. Williams, at 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, is an immediate contributor to a defensive tackle group that has lost Marcus Harris. He also played running back at Clinton High School in North Carolina, where he recorded 12 rushing touchdowns and nearly 1,000 yards.
