What a signing: Cincinnati Bengals has made super an excellent trade….

The Steelers made many roster changes before of Saturday’s game at Acrisure Stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Linebacker Kyron Johnson was signed to the 53-man roster off the practice squad, and defensive back Elijah Riley was reinstated from the Reserve/Injured List.

Furthermore, linebacker Myles Jack and safety Eric Rowe were promoted from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive Roster for the game and will return to the practice squad thereafter.

Riley, who no longer has an injury classification for the game, was injured in the Steelers’ Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns and was placed on the Reserve/Injured List on November 20.

Riley has seven tackles this season, including three solo stops, one sack, and two tackles for a loss, as well as two special teams tackles.

Johnson was signed to the practice squad on October 10. He was activated for the Week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals, the Week 14 game against the New England Patriots, and the Week 15 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Eagles selected Johnson in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Last season, he appeared in 16 games, mostly on special teams.

On November 20, Jack was signed to the practice squad. Jack, who was most recently with the Philadelphia Eagles before announcing his retirement before the season began, is no stranger to the Steelers. In the 2022 offseason, he signed as an unrestricted free agent with the team.

Jack played for the Steelers for one season before being released at the start of free agency in 2023. In 2022, Jack appeared in 15 games, starting 13. He concluded the season with 104 tackles, 61 of which were single stops. He recorded three tackles.

Jack played for the Jacksonville Jaguars for six seasons, starting 83 of the 89 games he appeared in. He has 511 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 17 quarterback hits, three interceptions, 15 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and two defensive touchdowns in six seasons.Rowe was added to the practice squad on November 20th. He is in his ninth NFL season.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Since then, he’s played for the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and, most recently, the Carolina Panthers.

He appeared in 62 games, starting 38 of them. He has 300 tackles, six tackles for loss, three interceptions, one of which was recovered for a score, and two sacks.

Running back Anthony McFarland Jr. was dismissed by the organization on Thursday.

McFarland was placed on the Reserve/Injured List early this season and has appeared in only three games this season.

The Steelers selected McFarland in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
