BAD NEWS: Aston Villa head coach fired two player due to

It feels as if Aston Villa have a big opportunity to strengthen Unai Emery’s squad in January in what is proving to be an excellent season.

The club’s summer recruitment has worked excellently, with Pau Torres, Moussa Diaby and Youri Tielemans all making stellar contributions.

And with Villa sat in second place with 20 games played, they have an excellent chance of securing Champions League football.

That being said, Villa do still have a thin squad.

Perhaps a striker to complement Ollie Watkins is the biggest necessity in January, with Emery said to be willing to loan out Jhon Duran if Villa sign a replacement.

And according to Football Transfers, Emery would now like to sign a forward he was determined to sign at Arsenal.

31-year-old Wilfried Zaha is now playing his football with Galatasaray in Turkey, and Emery would like to bring him back to England.

According to this report Villa have now made approaches to sign the ‘world class’ winger, who joined his new club on free last summer.

A deal would be difficult this month, Zaha is said to be very content at his new club.

However, given how high Villa are flying right now, there could be some temptation.
