Sad news: A team Lose Projected Top 10 Pick to NFL Draft

The Washington Huskies are coming off of a tough loss to the Michigan Wolverines in the national championship. A few days ago, it was announced that a top wide receiver of theirs was declaring for the NFL Draft. Now, an even bigger name joins him on the draft board.

Rome Odunze Declares for the NFL Draft

Pro Football Focus reported earlier today that Washington WR Rome Odunze has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. That adds a huge name to the NFL Draft board. PFF has him ranked as the seventh overall draft prospect this year.

Odunze spent the last four seasons with the Washington Huskies and had a great college football career. However, 2023 was certainly his best season. Odunze had 1,640 receiving yards and 13 touchdown receptions. Now, he looks to take his talent to the NFL.

Washington Huskies Moving Forward

It just got more difficult for the Huskies to run it back. They have now lost two wide receivers and likely will lose QB Michael Penix Jr to the NFL Draft. Along with this, there are question marks as to who their 2024 head coach will be.

That is because there are rumors that current head coach Kalen DeBoer is a heavy favorite to take the recent Alabama Crimson Tide head coach vacancy. If the Huskies lose DeBoer as well, the program is essentially starting from scratch. We will have to keep an eye on any further developments.
