GOOD NEWS: ASTON VILLA-SIGN A KEY PLAYER FOR TWO, $15.26MILLION DEAL

Chelsea striker Armando Broja could become a target for Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Chelsea are open to selling Armando Broja this month and Villa are one of the clubs who are interested in him, according to the Evening Standard.

However, the same outlet has also claimed that the Villans’ interest in the 22-year-old is conditional on whether Jhon Duran leaves the club.

Duran is actually being linked with a move to Chelsea, with journalist Nathan Gissing recently reporting that his name has been discussed at Stamford Bridge.

It could be Duran in and Broja out at Chelsea before the transfer window closes, though clubs interested in the latter are going to have to bring serous money to the table. As per The Telegraph, the Blues value their forward at around £50m.

It makes sense why Villa would be keen on Broja. He is a young forward with a lot of talent and someone who has a bit of Premier League experience.

Ultimately, the Albania international could be a good back-up option to Ollie Watkins

From Chelsea’s perspective, though, selling Broja now makes little sense, especially if the striker the club plan to bring in this month is Duran, who has even less experience than Broja in England.Wolves join Fulham in the race for Chelsea striker Armando Broja... but a move depends on the Blues' search for attacking reinforcements this January | Daily Mail Online

Selling him at this very moment would also be reckless, with Nicolas Jackson still on international duty and Christopher Nkunku injured.

We cannot see any club paying £50m for a 22-year-old who has just come back from a serious injury, though. There is probably going to have to be a lot of negotiating if Broja is sold in this transfer window, so nothing seems imminent.

It gives Chelsea time to change what is quite a bizarre stance with their young No.9, who only signed a new long-term contract in 2022.
