SAD NEWS: Aston Villa key player suffers career ending injury

Aston Villa are set to be without four players due to being injured as they welcome Newcastle United to Villa Park tonight.

This week now sees Aston Villa return to home Premier League action as Newcastle United travel to face them.

After two goalless draws in a row, Unai Emery will be hoping that his side can refind some goal-scoring form.

Last time out the Villans travelled to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the fourth round of the FA Cup. They thought they had opened the scoring through Douglas Luiz but it was chalked off due to handba

Tonight sees a return to Premier League action as Villa look to maintain their positive form in the Premier League so far. It must be said that they will be without several key stars for the visit of the Magpies.

This season the Villans haven’t been without many first-team players getting injured throughout the whole season.

Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia suffered season-ending injuries in preseason for starters. Now there are multiple longer-term injuries to contend with.Aston Villa transfer news as Lucas Digne move to OGC Nice delayed

In a post by the official Aston Villa social media, they have confirmed the absence of four stars for the upcoming game.

On that, they said: “The boss confirms that Pau Torres, Lucas Digne and Jhon Durán are unavailable to face Newcastle United, while Jacob Ramsey is a doubt.”

These four being out with injuries is certainly disappointing, especially for a clash against a very decent Newcastle side.

This campaign, Torres has been superb and one of Villa’s most important players in the back line for building attacks. Although Clement Lenglet is a useful backup option, it is safe to say he doesn’t measure up to the Spaniard.

Digne has been another standout figure in the Villans’ back four from both an attacking and defensive point of view. This has seen Alex Moreno step into his place and perform well. It is still disappointing to see the Frenchman missing.

It has been said that Duran is going to be out for many weeks but with talks of him departing the club, this is strange. He will be missed as a squad option but wasn’t getting many minutes in recent weeks.

This week has seen Ramsey be linked with a departure from Villa Park with Newcastle being one of the names mentioned. It must be said that he might appear against the Toon but it is touch and go with his injury issues.

These four being missing is an issue for Emery and his squad as they move into a busy period of the season.
