Dallas Cowboys could replace Dan Quinn with former NFL head coach with 22 years of pro experience.

You are probably aware by now that the Dallas Cowboys have parted ways with their defense coordinator of the last three seasons. Dan Quinn has been promoted to head coach of the Washington Commanders after leading a scoring defense that ranks in the top ten. It’s now necessary for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to select a deserving successor.

Although Mike Zimmer hasn’t played for the Dallas Cowboys in 17 years, he may make a comeback in 2024, according to a number of sources, including Adam Schefter.

According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the Cowboys reached out to Zimmer this past week, where they set up an interview for the current defensive coordinator vacancy in Dallas.

If hired, Zimmer would be taking over a very talented defense featuring one of the NFL’s best pass-rushers in Micah Parsons, in addition to a ball-hawking secondary featuring Trevon Diggs and Daron Bland. Not to mention, with Mike McCarthy seemingly on the hot seat every season, there’s always the chance of Zimmer returning to a head coaching role, even if it’s for just a few weeks until the Cowboys find a more permanent solution in the following offseason.
