A club option for 2025 is included in the one-year, $12 million contract, according to Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com. Lance Lynn was acquired by St. Louis on Monday via free agency. This means that the team will add another seasoned starter to complete a rotation that still needs a top-tier arm and has to be completely rebuilt this winter. After agreeing to a one-year, $10 million deal with the Orioles in the winter, Gibson, 36, went on to pitch 33 starts over 192 innings with a 4.73 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 157:55 K:BB. Approximately 125 miles away from Busch Stadium, he attended the University of Missouri to play collegiate ball.
