Goran Dragic revealed he wants to return to the Miami Heat, adding that at the moment there’s no certainty whether his wish come true.

Goran Dragic held his training camp in Lasko, Slovenia, for the ninth time in a row, and he had the chance to speak with the local media.

The 37-year-old was questioned on his NBA future and the team he would like to play for. Dragic made no secret of the fact that his preferred landing place would be the Miami Heat.

According to Dragic, “the main desire is to return to Miami,” siol.net reports. “Everyone is off to a poor start as they are now waiting for Damian Lillard to announce his future move. The other players’ movement will open as soon as this is understood.”

“We are in negotiations with several clubs, but when the announcement comes in a few days, much more will be revealed.

Dragic was a member of the Miami Heat from 2015 to the conclusion of the 2020–21 season, at which point he was engaged in the trade for Kyle Lowry.

Dragic averaged 16.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game in 391 games across his seven seasons with the Heat. Moreover, he was chosen an NBA All-Star for the 2017–18 campaign.

During his training camp, Dragic disclosed that he underwent knee surgery for the 2022–2023 season.

I was playing pretty well until I suffered a knee injury in the midst of the season. After that, it was kind of decided upon that Patrick Beverley would go to Chicago, and I was traded to Milwaukee. Then, no one knew until now, that I had also had knee surgery,” Dragic remarked.

Dragic did, however, reassure that he feels ready and prepared for the forthcoming season.

“It’s sometimes a little harder for me to keep up with the youngest ones at the camp because they really have a lot of energy, but what’s most important is that I’m mentally prepared, fresh, and my head is completely focused,” Dragic said.
