One of the clubs that is anticipated to be more active during this week’s trade deadline is the Los Angeles Lakers. Following a difficult, inconsistent season, Los Angeles wants to strengthen their postseason roste

They’ve been linked to a number of names in general, including a couple All-Stars. However, one player in particular stands out for this group: Tyus Jones of the Washington Wizards.

NBA Insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports speculates that teams may not be asking as much for Jones as they are. To acquire the point guard, he predicts that several second-round selections will be needed.Lakers get good news on long-coveted trade target | Yardbarker

“While the Wizards have stated an asking price to inquiring teams of a first-round pick for floor general Tyus Jones, rival executives have indicated a confidence that Washington will ultimately be willing to move on from Jones for a package of multiple second-round picks.”

Should Jones be available for several second-round selections, the Lakers ought to seize the opportunity to get him. He will be a free agent at the end of the season, but he could still be useful to Los Angeles.

Jones has established himself as one of the NBA’s best backup point guards and has been for many years. In the closing minutes, he would be an incredible value for the Lakers, who could also use him to step in for Gabe Vincent.

Jones has averaged 12.2 points, 6.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 49 games with Washington. The Lakers are in dire need of assistance from him as he is also shooting 39.2% from outside the three-point line.

Although it’s not a perfect solution, Jones can help the Lakers in certain ways. He would be a wise addition to this team and be of great assistance in the future.
