So SAD New Michigan stars are in training how to move ord stars aut off thear were….’

Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore had to have felt great about his chances of replacing Jim Harbaugh when the latter skipped town for another shot at a Lombardi Trophy with the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers.

After all, Moore arguably had one of the best on-the-job interviews of all time in his four games as Michigan’s interim head coach this past season.

Covering for the suspended Harbaugh, Moore was 4-0 as Michigan’s head coach. He led Michigan to a win over Bowling Green in Week 3 and then carried the Wolverines through a three-game Big Ten gauntlet of No. 10 Penn State, Maryland and No. 2 Ohio State to end the season.

The Penn State and Maryland games were impressive wins because they came on the road, but it was that win over the rival Buckeyes in Ann Arbor that really sticks out for Moore now that he looks back on what he accomplished.

“It meant everything, I mean just winning that game regardless of whether you’re the head coach or the offensive coordinator, o-line coach, defensive coordinator. It means everything, that’s everything we work for all year,” Moore recently explained to Rich Eisen (h/t On3).

Michigan beat Ohio State, 30-24, to finish the regular season 12-0 and 9-0 in-conference. The Wolverines went on to beat Iowa to win a third-straight Big Ten championship and they continued their run with wins over No. 4 Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl and then No. 2 Washington in the CFP National Championship game.

Michigan finished with a perfect 15-0 championship season, but had the Wolverines won it all with the only blemish being a loss to Ohio State at the end of the regular season, it wouldn’t have felt as special in Ann Arbor.

Per Moore, winning “The Game” is the expectation and standard. It was that way with Harbaugh, and it will be the same at Michigan now that he’s head coach.

“That’s the standard we uphold ourselves and that program and will continue to do so. We know everything we do and we work for we’re trying to beat them every single day. So it meant everything and that’s the game we work for and was super excited for that moment for our players, for our fans, for the university to continue what we’ve been doing and we look to continue to uphold that standard,” Moore said.

The 2024 NFL Draft is rich with quarterback talent, and after the 2024 Senior Bowl that may be an understatement. Several quarterbacks are already expected to be taken in the first or second round, including USC’s Caleb Williams, UNC’s Drake Maye, LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Oregon’s Bo Nix, Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy. However, a new quarterback is now rising in the rankings following a strong performance in the Senior Bowl. That player is South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler. The 23-year-old was named the MVP of the game on Saturday after completing four-of-four passes for 65 yards and a touchdown. “It means a lot. We put in a lot of hard work this week. It’s not just for me, it’s for the American squad. We fought our butts off today and had a great week with the guys,” Rattler told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. “[This week’s] been a blessing, being around great coaches, great people. Just creating relationships with these guys that I’ve known coming up and competing against.” Rattler currently ranks as Pro Football Focus’ eighth-best quarterback and No. 101 overall prospect on its big board, but many believe he will continue rising up draft boards as the offseason progresses. The Athletic’s Dan Brugler said Rattler “could make the greatest jump during the draft process.” The South Carolina product was somewhat inconsistent throughout his collegiate career. The 2020 season was his best, when he threw for 3,031 yards, 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions. But if he continues to shine at the NFL Combine at the end of February and at his Pro Day, he could certainly increase his draft stock even more. For now, Rattler is only focused on getting better a few months away from the 2024 NFL Draft. “I’m headed back home to train in Phoenix,” Rattler finished. “Just taking it step by step. Keep working.”

Reports: Rockets willing to include former No. 2 pick in trade packages

Executives around the NBA believe the Rockets are willing to include former No. 2 overall pick Jalen Green in a trade package for a marquee wing, according to reports from Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports and Marc Stein at Substack. Both reporters mention Mikal Bridges as a top target for the Rockets, with Stein citing a belief around the league that Houston has been open to parting with Green and “an array of first-round picks” in exchange for the Nets forward. However, Brooklyn continues to resist inquiries for Bridges, so those talks didn’t gain any traction, according to Fischer. When the Rockets conducted head coaching interviews last spring, they asked their candidates their thoughts on which of the team’s younger players the front office should consider including in a deal for a star, league sources tell Fischer. Houston’s group of youngsters includes Green, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith, Tari Eason, Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore. Fischer’s report doesn’t state that head coach Ime Udoka identified Green as a potential trade chip, but the 21-year-old is the young Rocket whose name has popped up most often in trade rumors as of late. Here’s more on the Rockets: While many rival front offices have viewed the Rockets’ willingness to discuss Green as a signal that they’re looking to accelerate their rebuilding process and push for a postseason spot, their acquisition of Steven Adams — who is out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury — suggests they have more patience than advertised, Fischer writes. As Fischer observes, it’s more accurate to classify Houston as “eager to be opportunistic” rather than determined to make a second-half push. The Rockets — like the Knicks and some other teams — were prepared to be players for the next star player that became available this season, sources tell Yahoo Sports, but no player of that magnitude is currently on the market. While Houston remains a team to watch ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, a significant deal appears more likely to occur in the offseason than this week, says Fischer.

Hollywood history is filled with actors slotted into the category of the “character actor.” These men and women have faces and voices that people may recognize but whose names may not be as widely known. While it is easy to dismiss such actors, it’s important to recognize their key role in television, and it is equally necessary to appreciate the considerable talent they bring to their roles and the institution of television itself. Looking back through the most notable character actors in the history of television gives the viewer a more nuanced and rich appreciation for the talent involved in the craft of acting in all of its forms.

One can trace the roots of progressive rock back to the Beatles and the Beach Boys (Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pet Sounds, specifically). Then, some bands found a place in the genre and enjoyed notable success as part of the movement. Here are 20 of the best bands who did just that.
