Man killed in Brooklyn after finding his body dismembered in a refrigerator due to unpaid rent
Investigators surmise that his corpse was kept cold in the refrigerator for almost two years.
WABC, Brooklyn’s FLATBUS — Detectives believe that the man who was found dismembered in a Brooklyn refrigerator for almost two years died as a result of an argument over unpaid rent.
The victim, identified as Kawsheen Gelzer, was dismembered and put in the refrigerator after succumbing to blunt force trauma to the head.
He was reported missing by his mother on April 22, 2022, and it is thought that he was killed in March 2022.
At the time of his death, Gelzer was staying at the third-floor apartment on Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush, couch surfing and paying the residents with drugs.
Detectives claim that 45-year-old Nicholas McGee, a resident, killed him because he failed to make a payment. They suspect that he used a Leatherman to chop up the body.
