Former Gamecock “GG” Jackson II signs multi-year contract with Memphis Grizzlies
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Memphis Grizzlies signed former Gamecock and South Carolina native “GG” Jackson II to a multi-year contract.
The 19-year-old was the 45th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft and has already appeared in 20 games with the Grizzlies as a rookie. He has averaged 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds in 18.3 minutes this season. The contract comes just after he scored a career-high 27 points in one game.
Jackson was the youngest player to appear in a game when he made his NBA debut at 18 years old.
During his one season at South Carolina, Jackson was both SEC and CBS Sports/USBWA National Freshman of the Week, and his scoring average was the fifth-most in the nation by a freshman.
He was the highest-ranked incoming freshman in South Carolina Gamecock’s history.
