Richard Davis nearly gave the Bears a two-goal lead inside the 11-minute mark of the second period when his shot from the blue line danced behind Erik Voloshin ’24 and over the line. Voloshin was  caught up with another player and was unable to make the save, resulting in the goal being disallowed.

At 8:08, Marottolo scored his third goal of the season while the Cardinals had the man advantage. With the Bears charged for boarding, Daniel Lurie ’26 set up Marottolo’s goal after obtaining possession at the top of the unit and gliding the ball down to the goal line. Alex Kozic stopped the first shot that Lurie attempted, but Marottolo recovered from out center and whacked the puck across the line to level the score at one.

The Bears led by one goal after Wierl’s goal at 14:36 in the third quarter, but Voloshin was substituted in.
