SAD NEWS : Heartbreak in Tallahassee: Noles’ undefeated season comes to an unpleasant conclusion….

It was a fantastic season for the Seminoles. Quarterback Jordan Travis was playing at a Heisman level and it felt like they had a spot in the playoffs locked down.

Then disaster struck. Despite finishing as undefeated conference champions, Florida States entire season was derailed after Travis sustained a season-ending leg injury in a fairly meaningless game against North Alabama. Tate Rodemaker, the backup quarterback, and the Noles defense—which some have called the best in the country—stepped up and defeated rival Florida in the game.

This was insufficient, though, as the CFP committee eliminated Florida State, the ACC champion, from the postseason in favor of Texas and Alabama, both of whom had only one loss. This was a historic choice made by the committee because it was the first time in ten years that a conference champion who had never lost had been excluded.

But, the Noles still have an Orange Bowl matchup against Georgia on December 30 to look forward to. However, the destruction doesn’t stop as numerous Noles players are choosing not to play in the bowl game. Trey Benson, Johnny Wilson, and Jaheim Bell—three of the Noles’ best offensive threats—are also registering for the NFL draft.
