fy specific requirements in December, sources told Schefterthat the NFL installed a sod field on top of field grass and began installing it as recently as last week.

Every field in the NFL has a hardness score of at least 70, with an average of 78. Schefter was informed by sources that the 49ers field is ranked in the 50s.
