SAD NEWS : The ‘hot’ Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Lions is infuriated by the NFL Pro Bowl snub…

Mich. — When Amon-Ra St. Brown met the reporters outside his locker room stall on Thursday following practice, he wasn’t exactly in the best of moods.NFL True or False: Julian Edelman's HOF case and other hot topics | theScore.com

The top wide receiver for the Detroit Lions acknowledged that he was “hot” over not being selected as an initial pick for the Pro Bowl.

CeeDee Lamb of Dallas, Mike Evans of Tampa Bay, A.J. Brown of Philadelphia, and Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams were instead selected to represent the NFC in the Pro Bowl as receivers.

With one regular-season game left, St. Brown’s 112 receptions are tied with Hill for second in the NFL this season and the third-most by a Lions player in a season, behind Herman Moore’s 123 in 1995 and Calvin Johnson’s 122 in 2012.

“I guess I didn’t do enough during the season, so I’ve got to go harder,” St. Brown stated.

Five colleagues of St. Brown’s from the Lions were selected for the Pro Bowl: linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin (special teams), tight end Sam LaPorta, center Frank Ragnow, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, and lineman Penei Sewell.

Hutchinson called his first selection to the Pro Bowl “amazing.”

It has great significance. Being able to accomplish that was one of my goals going into the year,” Hutchinson remarked. “But right now, I got all my focus really on this playoff run.”

St. Brown, who was called to replace Brown last season, is a strong candidate to be named to the Pro Bowl as a first alternate, at least in the event that the Lions are not successful in winning the Super Bowl.

The 2021 fourth-round pick, who believes he should have been selected originally, can still name all 16 receivers who were selected before him at No. 112. He views this most recent snub as adding gasoline to the fire.
