A Chick-fil-A drive-thru only location is coming to Riverside’s Ramona neighborhood.

With the exception of an interior dining area, the restaurant has everything that most Chick-fil-A locations have. It features a fenced-in patio with a few

tables and umbrellas, as well as a walk-up window for orders and pickups. Most of the doors are marked “employee only,” with the exception of the restrooms.

It will open at Citrus Landing on Thursday, February 15 at the intersection of Van Buren Boulevard and Arlington Avenue. It is located across from a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant at the center’s entrance.

A service area, storage, and offices occupy the majority of the 2,930-square-foot building’s interior space, as per the conditional use permit and design review issued by the city. The kitchen takes up about half of the building.

According to the city’s report, the new restaurant’s two-lane drive-thru will “allow for adequate lane stacking during peak business hours” and can accommodate 31 vehicles.

There are three more Chick-fil-A locations in the city. The nearest to the new one is located on Magnolia Avenue, close to California Baptist University, three miles away.

Los Angeles and Santa Monica are two cities in Southern California where restaurants are only accessible via drive-thru.

The new restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Sundays, all Chick-fil-A locations are closed.

According to a press release, the restaurant will donate $85,000 to Feeding America and offer 100 “local heroes” free Chick-fil-A for a year to celebrate the opening.
