Curry received a championship belt with pictures of goats—that is, legendary athletes—on either side.

He’s without a doubt the shooting GOAT. However, Ionescu, the star of the New York Liberty, nearly gave him more than he could manage.

Ionescu took the first shot and made 18 of 27; he began seven of seven. She received a total of 26 points from them, with some of them worth one and some worth two.

In order to seal the victory, Curry had to mount a little comeback, making nine of his final ten shots.

In a match with unusual features like a lime-green glass court in a football stadium with the entire world watching, they combined shot 39 for 54 (72%) points.

Though Curry made fun of Ionescu during her Friday practice shoot, there is no animosity between the two. As she shot, he was booing her.

“Certainly trying to apply some pressure,” Curry remarked.

In actuality, Ionescu has drawn inspiration from him for over fifty percent of her life. The family of Ionescu owned season tickets to Warriors games.

Once, while he was in the tunnel that led from the locker room to the court, he gave her a high five. She had a screensaver of a picture of him.

each of their foundations, and after it was all over, Curry took the belt home, but they were both extremely satisfied.

Curry remarked, “I’m not sure what will come of it, but Sabrina and I talked about how great of an opportunity it is to do something that’s never been done before in our game.” The next generation of young boys and girls who want to

compete and see themselves in either of us will be greatly inspired by her presence on this stage. We are confident that we can kind of plant our flag as doing something truly unique, wherever it goes from there.

The slam dunk contest is won by Mac McClung.

G-League champion Mac McClung scored five perfect scores on his final attempt, snatching the ball out of Shaquille O’Neal’s hands and winning his second straight slam dunk competition.

After his final two dunks, McClung finished with 98.8 points, one point more than Boston Celtics All-Star Brown.

McClung became the first player since Zach LaVine in 2015 and 2016 to win the game twice. He was also the sixth player to do so in consecutive seasons.

After Brown drew an average of 49.2 on his final dunk over someone wearing a sequin glove over his left hand, McClung needed a big score.

In the final round, McClung made his first dunk by leaping over two people. In April 2021, Brown honored the late Terrence Clark, a Massachusetts prep star who lost his life in an automobile accident at the age of 19.

Damian Lillard prevails in the three-point game.

Lillard almost made it to the championship round in this one. Tyrese of Indiana, Karl Anthony-Towns of Minnesota, Tre Young of

Atlanta, and Lillard finished in a tie for the final three spots. With 12 points,  was eliminated in the tiebreaking round.

After that, Young and Towns each scored 24 points in the championship game, which gave Lillard a chance to win it with a late barrage of baskets.
