According to Graeme ,  Phillips still needs to establish his status as a Premier League player.

The England midfielder, who came to West Ham on loan from Manchester City in January, has not had the best start to his London career.

Phillips’ move to West Ham hasn’t started well

One of his first touches on his first start against Bournemouth saw him give the ball away for an easy goal, and on his second start against Nottingham Forest, he was sent off.

For £85 million, Phillips left Leeds to join City in 2022, but it’s safe to say that the move hasn’t been successful given that he has only made 31 appearances and there has been tension between him and Pep .

Nonetheless, it was hardly surprising that West Ham was eager to sign Phillips considering his success for England, which earned him the title of Three Lions Player of the Year in 2021.

Former Hammers manager and host Alan discussed the deal, saying, “They brought in Phillips but he just hasn’t worked out. They sold off a couple of flair players.”

“He was sent off over the weekend, is having trouble figuring himself out, and hasn’t played any games.

“I think he’s a great player, but I’m not sure if going to West Ham was the right move for him because it’s not working out.”

Co-host Graeme responded to those remarks, expressing doubts about Phillips’ abilities.

Is he a player in the Premier League? Why do you say that? interrupted, and brought up Phillips’ form in England.

“Mickey Mouse games are mostly joke games played in England,” he continued.

“I still think he’s a very good player, but I personally thought at the time it wasn’t the right move for West Ham,”  said.

But was far from done.

He said, “You can’t say he’s a very good player, but for West Ham, this is the wrong move.”

I estimate that he has participated in about 65 Premier League games. He began his career at Leeds, spent a season there, and then made a significant move to Manchester City. Based on someone’s assessment, they quickly realized that he was not what they had anticipated and let him go.
