On Monday, Aeromexico celebrated 15 years of nonstop flights to Denver International Airport (DEN). In observance of the occasion, the airline provided some sweets to travelers arriving from Mexico City.

The milestone was reached just a few months after the airline began using the Boeing 737 MAX 9 on flights to Mile High City, upgrading its fleet. Denver was one of the two US cities where Aeromexico initially used this particular type of aircraft.

According to , the aircraft, AM444, took off from Mexico City International Airport () at 09:58 local time. It took just under four hours to travel north at an altitude of 32,000 feet, land at DEN at 12:30 local time, and arrive at its gate at 12:41, minutes later. In keeping with the festivities, cookies were given to flight attendants at the gate.

In November of last year, Aeromexico started operating MAX 9 flights to Denver and Las Vegas in the United States. The route’s smaller 737-800 variant was replaced by the new equipment.  was taken out of service on January 29th due to safety concerns regarding the type of aircraft, according to Planespotters.net. Data indicates that on January 6, the aircraft was grounded at . Aeromexico placed the order for the aircraft in November 2012, but it wasn’t until almost ten years later that it was produced and used for its first flight in March 2022. The next month, it was delivered to the airline.

 

According to , Aeromexico has a fleet of 19 MAX , with an average age of 2.2 years. After all of the planes are delivered, the airline will have 24 total because they have five more on order. There are 181 seats available on this type of aircraft: 16 in business class, 18 in premium economy, and 147 in economy. Aeromexico offers 1,267 seats weekly in each direction on its daily round-trip flights to Denver.
