The Rangers legend Philippe Clement feels that the boss knows what’s important.

Barry Ferguson believes that since the Rangers are focused on winning right now, manager Philippe Clement is not overly concerned with how the team plays.

Following Michael Beale’s departure, Rangers hired Clement in October, and he has successfully turned the season around for the Gers.

Under the Belgian, the Ibrox team has only dropped one game and has overtaken Celtic at the top of the league table.

Ferguson believes that because Clement is aware that getting three points is all that matters at this point in the season,

he does not place undue pressure on his team’s performance standards.

According to the former Rangers star, Clement is not afraid to make adjustments before or during a game an

believes that by instilling knowledge in his players, he gets them ready for games ahead of them.

Ferguson stated in his Daily Record column, “It seems to me that Clement works out in advance what’s going to be

required and spends two or three days drumming it into his players on the training ground.”

“He doesn’t hesitate to make adjustments, either in the lead-up to or during the game.

And he’s not one of those managers who constantly talks about how good the team played when, in the end, winning three more points and returning to Glasgow is what matters most.

“Rangers fans will gladly accept it if that means substance over style.”
