Edgar Berlanga, a hard-hitting super middleweight challenger, faces unbeaten Padraig McCrory at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Florida on Saturday in an attempt to earn a shot at the world title. Worldwide coverage of the 12-round fight and supporting events will be available on DAZN.

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York, Berlanga (21-0, 16 KOs) has established himself as a true knockout artist by stopping 16 straight opponents in the opening frame.

The 26-year-old former amateur great, though, has lost all five of his previous fights and is motivated to finish this one on time.

“No one is overlooked by us. At the last press conference, Berlanga remarked, “Padraig is a tough guy; he’s coming from Ireland, he’s undefeated, he’s coming from the bottom just like I am, and we’re ready.”

“We recognize that anything may happen at this stage. You can be without strength in the super middleweight class, but anyone can punch if they put on ten-ounce gloves.

Belfast, Northern Ireland-born McCrory (18-0, 9 KOs) is hoping to cause an upset. Although the Irishman has completed all assignments thus far, this is a significant step up in class. He’s practically guaranteed to land the next big-money bout if he can dethrone Berlanga.

He’s a really skilled fighter, McCrory said. “He’s the star and the primary attraction; this is the Berlanga show, and I’m just here to show up. I’m just a guy from West Belfast, no one expects anything from me.

However, I believe I am capable of winning this battle. Whether it’s Game A, B, or C, we’re prepared for everything he brings since we’ve worked hard in the gym and thoroughly studied our strategies.

It’s going to be a hard fight if I don’t implement our plan since that’s how he fights. I’ve been yelling for this chance.
