In several cases, a single midnight raid resulted in the deaths of at least 100 people. This kind of isolated assault resulted in the destruction of numerous homes and farms, forcing the populace to make do with what they could and their attackers taking over their ancestral grounds. Caleb Mutfwang, the next state governor, was born and raised in Mangu Local Government Area, where the raid that took place there is still considered one of the worst attacks in the state’s history. Because of all of these, some have predicted that the state’s agricultural communities and villages may experience a food crisis this season due to ongoing attacks.
There are concerns that the attacks may lead to an increase in the number of youngsters who are not in school. It has been discovered that several pupils have dropped out of the current West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) due to the terrorist attacks that have impacted the impacted communities.
According to Solomon Dalyop, president of the Beron Youth Moulders Association (BYM), there are currently 120 communities and villages under terrorist occupation in Plateau North alone. He emphasized that the numbers have gone up following the recent incident in Mangu Local Government.
