In fiscal year 2023, the university spent $1.449 billion annually on research & development, a 6% increase over the $1.36 billion spent the year before.

The Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge, in collaboration with Ohio State’s universities, tracks the data that indicate the amount of funding available for cutting-edge science and creative expression research.

At the Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships board committee meeting, Peter Mohler, executive vice president for research, innovation, and knowledge, remarked, “This is a year of firsts.”

Following Pierre Agostini, Ohio State’s recent Nobel Laureate, who appeared via Zoom from France, Mohler made his remarks. Agostini and Lou DiMauro, a fellow Buckeye physicist, talked about the science behind the prestigious award and trustees expressed excitement about meeting Agostini soon.
