The Miami Heat and New Orleans Pelicans were at the center of a contentious situation after an unlucky play involving Kevin Love and Zion
Williamson. Love didn’t try to harm Williamson, despite what many people believed, as the Pelicans star said following the game.
According to Williamson, “I wasn’t tripping about K-Love because he actually protected me on my fall,” reported ESPN. “All of a sudden I see
Butler kind of lunging toward , so I’m trying to get there like, ‘Yo, relax, like what’s going on?'”
Williamson’s steal of the ball and drive to the hoop for an easy layup set the whole thing off. Before the Pelicans star
fell to the floor, Love grabbed his jersey, causing Marshall and other players to react violently.
Four players were removed from the game in total, Jimmy Butler of the Heat among them. Butler took offense at this sequence and sent a strong message to the Pelicans prior to their match on March 22.
Following the game, Butler declared, “We’ll beat them the next time too.” “We’re just a better team.”
“Our team is so ready for anything that anybody’s thrown at us,” Butler stated. “We’re playing some amazing basketball together, and it feels great. Who we face off against at this point is irrelevant, in my opinion. That time of year has
arrived.”
In the end, Miami prevailed 106-95.
Although it’s unlikely that these two teams will play each other in a hypothetical NBA Finals series, they will undoubtedly be more motivated to
defeat one another following Friday’s game. These two teams could surprise opponents in the playoffs.
