Star player Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans made a startling remark regarding the play that precipitated a major brawl during the team’s game against the Miami Heat at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Williamson refrained from getting entangled in the altercation during his team’s 106-95 loss to Miami. However,

the entire altercation began when Kevin Love physically fouled the Pelicans forward early in the fourth quarter (watch the video here

Following a verbal and physical altercation, Jimmy Butler, Marshall, Jose Alvarado, and Thomas Bryant were ejected. A few fans were even ejected from the venue.

Williamson revealed something intriguing about the whole thing: he wasn’t even angry with Love. The two-time All-Star actually thought that the Heat veteran “protected” him from a possible poor landing.

Williamson told ESPN, “I wasn’t tripping about K-Love because he actually protected me on my fall.” “What’s going on? Yo, relax,” I’m trying to get there when I suddenly see Butler kind of lunging toward .

Butler and Marshall had to be kept apart since they were each “defending” a teammate. Bryant and Alvarado were fighting for the same reason. The guys who were really involved in the first incident, Love and Williamson, weren’t even at odds.

Given that, it’s kind of funny that needless bravado led to the start of a full-fledged fight.

There seems to be something amiss in the NBA this weekend.

On Saturday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Brooklyn Nets 101-86 in a blowout. However, a brawl between Nets guard Dennis  and Wolves guard Mike Conley ended the game prematurely.

Conley chose to make a three-point shot with 25 seconds remaining in the game and the shot clock nearing zero. The move infuriated , who shoved Conley

and got in his face. There was a brief altercation after was shoved aside by Wolves teammate Jaden McDaniels.

In a different incident,  Alexander-Walker of Minnesota and Dorian Finney-Smith of Brooklyn were also seen trading small pushes beneath the basket.

The video is available here.

Conley’s decision to shoot with the game already decided and his team leading by twelve evidently infuriated . Conley countered that there was still

time between the game clock and the shot clock, so he had to shoot or force a turnover.

The debate surrounding “unwritten rules” is remarkably similar to the one that erupted into a brawl during the previous evening’s Golden State

Warriors vs. Charlotte Hornets game. In the meantime, the Miami Heat and the New Orleans Pelicans engaged in a heated altercation on Friday night. It’s evident that the NBA season’s second half is getting off to a fiery start.

A product of Michigan State Perhaps too much, Draymond Green is devoted to his fellow Spartan alumnus.

The Golden State Warriors star angered some fans online by endorsing Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges without reservation.

A late-game altercation involving Bridges occurred during the Warriors’ 97-84 victory over the Hornets. Bridges was fined for the incident, as was fellow Hornet Grant Williams.

After the game, Green chastised Williams, but the four-time All-Star cleared Bridges of any wrongdoing. Green continued, saying that in his opinion, Bridges “can do no wrong.”

“You know, I like Miles a lot.” My younger brother is that. Therefore, I won’t sit here and criticize Miles. “Miles is untouchable for me,” declared Green in his press conference following the game.

Because of multiple alleged violent incidents against the mother of his two children, Bridges is currently serving a three-year probationary period.

Green’s decision to refrain from chastising Bridges for the on-court incident is perfectly acceptable. However, some online fans think the Warriors star may have overdone it with his compliments to Bridges.

Draymond Green said, “Miles Bridges can do no wrong to me,” last night. I contend that giving serious consideration to child abuse and domestic violence is more

crucial than giving serious consideration to All-Star weekend.
