Packers Rumors: AJ Dillon, Darnell Savage, and Jon Runyan’s most recent contract rumors
“There isn’t a’must re-sign’ player,” according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, who wrote on Monday. “This means general manager Brian Gutekunst could let more than a half-dozen full- or part-time starters pursue deals with other teams.”
Security Among these players is Darnell Savage. In ten games last season, he recorded 51 tackles and one pass breakup.
Demovsky was informed by Savage’s agent, Seth Katz, that “there will be significant interest in Darnell.” Additionally, according to a source quoted by Demovsky, Savage would be the most expensive player in the Packers’ free agent class this season.
It’s probably safe to say that the 26-year-old has moved on.
However, due in large part to the dismal status of the running back market, running back AJ Dillon may choose to remain in Green Bay. According to Demovsky, his new contract might only pay him between $1.5 million and $3 million annually.
With the Packers, the 2020 second-round selection has averaged 4.1 yards per carry while rushing for 2,428 yards and 16 touchdowns. He would provide valuable depth in the backfield.
