Pat Noonan’s squad won the second game of the series at Red Bull Arena as well.

At Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, on Saturday, the New York Red Bulls and Cincinnati FC squared off to determine one of the MLS Cup Eastern Conference semifinalists. As in the first game at TQL Stadium on October 29, the visitors ended up victorious.

Just before halftime, Tom Barlow gave the Red Bulls the lead when he was unable to handle a shot from outside the six-yard box and ended up on the fringe of the area.

After replacing Dominique Badji in the 34th minute, Gabon’s Aaron Boupendza knotted the score for Cincinnati in the 75th minute with a left-footed strike that Red Bulls goalkeeper Carlos Coronel was helpless to stop.

After a play from the corner, the VAR disallowed a goal to the visitors in stoppage time due to an alleged foul that many protested.

Omir Fernández, Frankie Amaya, Sean Nelis, and Cameron Harper scored for NY, and Luciano Acosta, Yuya Kubo, Brandon Vázquez, and Álvaro Barreal scored for Cincinnati in a sequence of penalty kicks that broke the tie due to the new Major League Soccer regulations.
