Since the 49ers’ devastating Super Bowl 58 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, rumors about Aiyuk’s possible departure have been circulating. His rookie deal is now nearing its end, and his fifth-year option has been activated. Aiyuk’s girlfriend recently made hints on social media that he would play somewhere else in 2024, which fueled more rumors.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Lynch, however, quickly dispelled these reports and reaffirmed the team’s steadfast commitment to keeping their explosive wideout. “Brandon is someone we hold in the highest regard,” stated Lynch. “We’ve had success in the past in extending the players that are significant to us. Furthermore, we hope to retain Brandon for a very long time.”
