The Mavs of Luka Doncic aim to play well against the rising Heat The Mavs have suffered five straight losses despite Luka  Doncic’s incredible play. When facing the Heat, can they recover? Is Luka Doncic playing tonight against Phoenix Suns? Latest on 4x All-Star's status (Jan. 24)

Dallas — Before facing the Miami Heat on Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks had suffered five straight losses in their previous six games. The squad most recently suffered a 137-120 loss to the Indiana Pacers, which was a new low for their bad defensive play, even though they were already the poorest team in the NBA since the All-Star break.

Miami, who defeated the Detroit Pistons 118-110 on Tuesday, has been playing exceptionally well lately, winning five of their last six games before the All-Star break. This is in contrast to the Mavs. With 26 points, Jimmy Butler set the tone. Duncan Robinson and Bam Adebayo each added 18 points. Robinson has been filling in for Tyler Herro, who will continue to be sidelined because of an injury to his foot

Robinson’s commitment to player development was commended by Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, who also highlighted the numerous hours he spends behind the scenes. Robinson has scored ten or more goals in four straight games.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra stated, “The one thing I will say about Duncan is he puts in a crazy amount of time behind the scenes and player development.” “We support him in working on all of these projects. He spends hours upon hours practicing all of these maneuvers with the coaches.”
