Bears Add Two Players to Their List
Former 49ers safety Tarvarius Moore has also signed with Chicago, and free agent Collin Johnson of the Bears has returned to the organization for a one-year deal.

Prior to the commencement of free agency next week, the Bears signed wide receiver Collin Johnson, a free agent, and Tarvarius Moore, a former 49ers and Packers safety.

Moore, a 27-year-old 6-foot-2, 200-pound player from Southern Mississippi, was selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Between 2018 and 22, Moore appeared in 61 games with the 49ers, starting 13 of them. In 2021, he sustained an Achilles tendon tear, which caused him to miss the whole season.

Moore injured his knee in the second preseason week after signing with Green Bay the previous year. After releasing him with an injury settlement, the Packers cut him. He had been viewed as one among the players who could prevail in a competition to replace Adrian Amos following his release in free agency at the beginning of training camp.

But the Packers cut him loose due to his injuries and other players’ performances. With the 49ers, he participated in 1,096 special teams plays and 1,046 defensive snaps; the majority of the defensive plays were in 2024.

Last year, he had an 11-yard reception. He made 11 receptions for 105 yards with the Giants in 2021 after having 18 catches for 272 yards and two touchdowns for Jacksonville in 2023.

He was selected by the Jacksonvilles in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2022, he was placed on injured reserve due to a ruptured Achiles tendon.
