A Former ICE Agent Is Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Women

In March 2022, the Brazilian national traveled to the United States. He overstayed his legally permitted period of time in the United States by more than a year.

Since June 2022, Brazilian officials have been pursuing custody of the Brazilian national on charges of statutory rape, which is defined by Brazilian law as having sex with someone under the age of 14 with consent. A criminal court in the Brazilian region of Parana is looking for him. The accusations are still pending.

Deportation officers with ERO Boston discovered, detained, and arrested the Brazilian citizen after learning of his presence in New England. While the removal process is ongoing, he will be detained by ICE.

ERO conducts removals of individuals without a lawful basis to remain in the United States, including at the order of immigration judges with the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). EOIR is a separate entity from DHS and ICE. Immigration judges in these courts make decisions based on the merits of each individual case, determining if a noncitizen is subject to a final order of removal or eligible for certain forms of relief from removal.
