Leeds Rhinos have officially announced the signing of 23-year-old Kieran Hudson from the Castleford Tigers, before the start of the new season.

The Sunderland native, a prop, was given his Suer Leaguep debut with Castleford after playing for Whitehaven and Newcastle Thunder in the past. But he was sidelined by an Achilles injury during the Tigers’ previous season. He is now fully recovered, and by moving to AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium, he will be able to continue his grandfather John Holmes’ legacy. Despite his passing in 2009, Holmes’s 625 appearances over two decades with the club still stands as the record for most appearances.

Hudson had an injury from his time with the Castleford Tigers when he joined the Leeds Rhinos. He spent the Headingley preseason healing from an Achilles ailment.

Rohan Smith referred to his pre-season recovery as a “mini pre-season,” and he went on to play against Hunslet

As part of his dual registration, the Leeds prop is most likely headed to the Halifax Panthers, however he could move to teammate Corey Johnson of the Bradford Bulls.
