‘I’m a bit worried’: Gary Neville says something ‘crazy’ has happened at Forest and it’s concerning him

Gary Neville has explained why he’s growing a little bit concerned with Nottingham Forest. This comes amid a four-point deduction that has seen the Reds drop into the relegation zone.

The Reds need wins and quickly if they’re to prolong their stay in the Premier League. Forest face Crystal Palace on Saturday and then Fulham on Tuesday in massive City Ground clashes.

It’s been a bit of a frantic few weeks at Forest. Mark Clattenburg has come in as a referee analyst, several refereeing decisions have gone against the club and wins haven’t been forthcoming.

Now, Neville is getting a little bit concerned with something that’s happening at Forest. He’s shared why he’s worried and has some reservations over some of their decisions in recent weeks.

Gary Neville shares what is worrying him about Nottingham Forest

Neville has been appearing on the latest episode of The Overlap: The Fan Debate – and talk has turned towards everything that has been happening at Forest.

Clearly, he doesn’t completely understand the landscape at Forest and much like he normally does about his beloved Manchester United, he’s decided to take aim at the Reds.

He’s growing quite worried with some things he’s seen in recent weeks at the City Ground. Neville has taken a swipe at the Forest owner and some of the things he’s doing at the moment.

Neville told The Overlap: The Fan Debate: “Appointing Mark Clatter burger, that’s a nonsense. The owner turning up on the side of the pitch against Liverpool, to me just demonstrates panic internally.

“When I look at that, having been in a boardroom, you know when there is a crisis when you see things happening like that. I just wonder what’s going on internally at the club.

“The Clattenburg one is just crazy in my mind, it gives the players an excuse. Honestly, what Forest have done there is give players an excuse – never give players an excuse that the referees are to blame.

“I know you’ve had a couple of bad ones, some shockers, I know that but just generally I think I’m a bit worried about what’s going on.”

Is Mark Clatter Burg really any good for Nottingham Forest?

Well, given that Forest seem to be getting the brunt of the big decisions still, the answer probably has to be no. However, his role and responsibilities at the club really aren’t that deep.

Forest aren’t unique in appointing a referee analyst. Okay, in terms of the Premier League, they have done something unprecedented but this is common practice on the continent.

Neville strikes us as the sort of pundit that had Manchester United made this decision, he’d laud it as amazing and groundbreaking. Instead, it’s Forest where the owner is sometimes erratic and he’s got an axe to grind.

Clatter Burg being in place at Forest is unlikely to be a long-term thing. However, he’s simply providing reports on officials so that Forest know what style of refereeing they’re going to get in each match.

Neville doesn’t appear to have much positive to say about Forest. He did go onto say on the latest episode that he likes seeing the Reds in the Premier League but Marina Kiss certainly doesn’t seem like his cup of tea..
