James Maddison’s darts celebration at the North London Derby on Sunday resulted in…

Saka, who had taken the shot that rebounded off Cristian Romero to give Arsenal the lead in the 26th minute of the 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium, replicated Maddison’s arrows celebration.

However, Maddison beat Saka deftly on the left to bring up Heung-Min Son for Tottenham’s equalizer 16 minutes later.

“Me and Bukayo had a bit of banter and a bit of trash talking on international duty,” Maddison said to SPURSPLAY when asked if his England teammate had imitated his celebration.

“And I got told he did the darts celebration – he must have still been doing it when I turned him for the first goal I think, so I’ll have a little word with him in there!”
After the game, when questioned by Sky Sports News, Maddison persisted in making fun of Saka.

“A quick 501 at Ally Pally against Bukayo Saka, do you reckon?” reporter Michael Bridge asked.

Then came a laughing Maddison, “His action was terrible though, wasn’t it?!”

The 26-year-old also had the last laugh on the field as he assisted in negating Saka’s penalty kick in the second half that had given Arsenal a 2-1 lead in the 56th minute.

However, Maddison stole the ball from Jorginho 90 seconds later, allowing Son to score his second goal of the match and guaranteeing Tottenham’s undefeated record in the Premier League under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
