CHRISTIAN HORNER ANNOUNCE HIS RETIREMENT IN TEARS AFTER DOCTORS CONFIRM THAT HE HAS CANCER SICKNESS…
Mercedes has confirmed that the engine that failed on Lewis Hamilton’s W15 car in Melbourne is no longer in service. Hamilton has now switched to his second powerplant of the 2024 season at the Japanese Grand Prix.
“The engine is currently out of the pool,” Mercedes head of communications Bradley Lord stated to Sky Sports F1.
“After taking it back to the manufacturer after Melbourne, we were able to trace the cause of the engine’s unexpected bottom-end failure to a quality process issue rather than a design flaw.
“However, as of this weekend and moving forward, he will be using his second power unit of the season and it will be out of the pool.”
The Japanese Grand Prix this weekend will feature a unique livery unveiled by McLaren.
As part of the team’s Driven by Change campaign, Japanese artist MILTZ designed the livery in collaboration with McLaren partner Vusi.
Returning for a fourth season of Formula One, the campaign provides a platform for original artwork by up-and-coming creatives to be seen by the world through the global motorsport industry.
MILTZ drew a picture of a dragon soaring over the skies based on the traditional Japanese calligraphy known as Emoji.
