breaking: due to coming back of…

After completing his loan from Newcastle United, Wood may be eligible to sign a permanent contract with the East Midlands club at the end of the current campaign, which would require a £15 million transfer fee, according to sources.

Although both teams made an effort to finish the transaction in time for Wood (31) to play this weekend against Bournemouth, registration issues might have cast doubt on that. In any case, the agreement prevents Wood from participating for Forest in their English Premier League match on March 18 against Newcastle United.

After the agreement was verified, Wood made his first public remarks regarding it.

He said on the Forest website:

I’m grateful to be here and it’s a wonderful feeling.

“I have come up with Nottingham Forest, which is a huge club.”

“The shift over the last 18 months is evident, and it is heading in the correct direction. The project is moving in the correct path.

“It’s a team that’s pulling together; it will require a lot of work, but the club is focused more on looking up than anything else.

“I’ve been in this league for a long time, so maybe, I can assist the younger guys out and unite the group with my wealth of experience.

“The City Ground has always had a hostile atmosphere for visiting players.” I’m grateful to have such an ardent fan base on my side right now, and I can’t wait to start performing there because of the energetic and boisterous crowd.

Filippo Girardi, the Sporting Director, stated:

” Chris is a highly experienced and character-driven player who has participated in 189 Premier League games and scored 54 goals.

“We are proud and prepared to fight together to reach our targets, and he is hungry to join us.”
