With the Reds having only finished in the play-off spots in four of their previous 14 seasons in the second division, it is apparent that some of their signings performed better than the vast majority made by the East Midlands club. This has led to 21 different managers coming and going but eventually failing.
Fawaz Al Hasawi, a Kuwaiti billionaire, oversaw their ownership for a significant amount of their Championship tenure and approved the transfers of some of the least successful players to have ever worn the Garabaldi Red uniform.

It would take him more than a month to score his first league goal against Burnley, and he would finish the season with an unimpressive two goals and four assists in 27 games.
The next season, manager Stuart Pearce informed Abdoun that he had “no future” at Forest, and the player never played for the Reds again. He signed a contract that would last until 2016, but it was terminated at the club after he played for just one season. In 2015, he was loaned out to Lokeren.
Although Forest has improved its transfer activity in the past few seasons, they will want to forget their two-year tenure in the East Midlands when they reflect on their Championship transactions, especially with a player like Abdoun.
