Additionally, it is the Longhorns’ third award of the season after sophomore Eliot Spizzirri won on February 18 and senior Cleeve Harper won on the week ending January 7.

In two top-40 road victories, Braswell recorded a 4-0 combined singles and doubles record. The victories came against No. 11 Oklahoma (4-1, securing a share of the Big 12 regular season title) and No. 33 Oklahoma State (6-1). With the victories, Texas also guaranteed the first seed in the Big 12 Championship.

Braswell defeated Kholo Montsi 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 to win the Big 12 title and the match against the Sooners overall. Before that, he and partner Cleeve Harper had swept Asahi Harazaki and Hank Trondson at No. 3 in a 6-0 victory, taking first place off the doubles court.

Braswell defeated No. 78 Isaac Becroft in a straight-set singles match against Oklahoma State, 6-3, 6-3, to give the Longhorns their first lead of 2-1. In that match, he and Harper also won the first set on the doubles court, defeating Ty Wunderlich and Leighton Allen 6-3 at No. 3. He only lost 16 games overall throughout the course of the four matches this weekend, averaging 2.7 per set.

Since the fall, Braswell has won 29 straight singles matches; in that time, he has only dropped four sets. He currently has a 32-2 record for the year, 14 victories in the top 50, and a flawless 16-0 record in dual matches. The combination is 6-0 since teaming up with Harper again in doubles, and they have only dropped 10 games overall (1.7 per match) with two shutouts. In all, Braswell has prevailed in nine of his previous ten doubles matches.

On Saturday, April 13, at 4 p.m. CT at the Texas Tennis Center, the Longhorns will play their final home game of the regular season versus No. 37 Baylor. It will also be Braswell and the other five players’ Senior Day.
