Nottingham Forest head coach lose the march against…

Sarah Clapson’s player ratings for Nottingham Forest are dismal, as the Reds are defeated by Everton

The most recent Nottingham Forest news shows that the Toffees defeated Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds 2-0 at Goodison Park.

With four games remaining, Nottingham Forest’s Premier League status is still very much in the balance following their 2-0 loss to Everton, their relegation rivals, at Goodison Park.

The goal for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team was to beat their relegation opponents and turn around an unsatisfactory week off the field. The match on Merseyside followed criticism of the club for raising season ticket prices for 2024–2025.

Jordan Pickford was forced to make an early save by Neco Williams as the Reds got off to a strong start. But the hosts quickly gained the upper hand and attempted to exert pressure on their rivals by using a series of set pieces.

It turns out that a dead-ball scenario was not the source of the opener. In the 29th minute, Idrissa Gueye scored a goal from outside the box after Ola Aina’s headed clearing of a cross found him in the far corner.

With the visitors attempting to counter, Pickford produced a superb stop to deny Chris Wood from close range. Despite an earlier penalty appeal from Gio Reyna, two from Callum Hudson-Odoi were waved either side of the halftime, giving Forest the impression that the authorities were not doing anything to help them.

And with fifteen minutes remaining, Dwight McNeil’s effort from outside the box struck the post and went in, leaving the Reds trailing 2-0. They were not having any luck. That objective essentially eliminated.

Nuno’s team finished the game one point above the bottom three, dashigning any aspirations they might have had of winning.

didn’t receive much assistance from his teammates in relation to the goals given up. Perhaps more effective, though, given that both.
