Two National League contenders collide Saturday afternoon in Queens when the New York Mets host the St. Louis Cardinals at Citi Field. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. EDT with TV coverage on FOX and streaming on-demand.

The Cardinals took Game 1 of the series and handed the Mets their fourth loss in five games, 4-2, on the strength of a three-run homer by Alec Burleson in the

second inning. St. Louis led 4-0 at that point and held on for the 4-2 victory behind 3.1 scoreless innings from its bullpen. Starting pitcher Miles Nikolas went 5.2 innings, giving up seven hits

and two runs with five strikeouts to pick up the win for the Cards. Jose Button (0-1, 2.86 ERA) was tagged with the loss for the Mets.

Veteran right-hander Sonny Gray (2-1, 1.04 ERA) is scheduled to get the ball for the Cardinals as they look to clinch a series victory. Opposing him will be Metal eighty Adrian Houser (0-2, 7.45 ERA) for the afternoon start in New York.
