Nine of the 257 selections in the draft went to Philadelphia, which selected Quinyon Mitchell, an All-American cornerback from Toledo, and Cooper DeJean, a star safety from Iowa, with the first two picks.

As the rookie minicamp quickly approaches, here is a summary of expert grades.

After this draft, the Eagles should definitely be considered when determining the 2024 NFC title contenders. It was a huge victory to get Mitchell to support the cornerback room without needing to trade up. They advanced DeJean, much like Detroit did for Brian Branch the previous season; I predict he’ll make a comparable impact in his rookie season. The third-round selection was worthwhile because to Hunt’s edge potential. The grade takes into account the third-round selection this year that was traded for cornerback Kelee Ringo last year; the outcome is still up in the air.

On Saturday, general manager Howie Roseman made multiple trades, changing the course of last year’s Ringo deal by obtaining third- and fifth-round picks in 2025. As rookies, Smith, the receiver, and Shipley, the all-purpose back, will probably play on special teams and offensive units. Roseman trading for Trotter—a good player and legacy pick for the Eagles—was my choice of the day. If Cam Jurgens doesn’t start at center this season, McMahon might, and Keegan was a terrific late addition to the guard depth chart.

Would you mind doing one more in Round 2? Quinyon Mitchell(22) and Cooper DeJean(40), my two top-ranked corners, were both successfully tackled by Roseman; but, DeJean is also capable of playing safety. The Eagles dominated Day 2 as I reported Friday night, adding my best outside linebacker in the class in Jalyx Hunt (94). A defense that finished 30th in terms of points allowed per game (25.2) will benefit from all three.
